Bo Nickals UFC title fight total is a topic of discussion between Enry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman

Bo Nickal has what it takes to be a future champion. But how much time would it take the top prospect to finish telling his story?

The three time collegiate wrestling champion made his MMA debut in 2022 and is now 6-0. All of his victories have come via submission or knockout. At UFC 300 this past Saturday, Nickal was forced to submit Cody Brundage in the first round before finishing the fight with a rear naked choke in the second.

After his performance, Nickal was clearly unhappy, and there is still much discussion about how the UFC should book him moving forward. On a recent episode of their podcast Pound 4 Pound, former UFC champions Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman talked about Nickals potential and projected how many fights Nickal would need to take before vying for a UFC title.

Just be grateful and sign that contract if youre lucky enough to get called to fight me, Cejudo recalled hearing him remark. Let me tell you something, Bo if youre unhappy with your performance, dont put too much pressure on yourself because, in all honesty, I think you have what it takes to be a future champion at 185 pounds, but youre not ready for the top 10. When competing against larger opponents like as Marvin Vettori, who possesses strong jiu jitsu, huge guys, and wrestling prowess, or even someone like Paolo Borrachinha Costa, Costa may not be ready for the top 10 Therefore I believe he needs to go three rounds at 185 pounds.

He needs to be aware of that threshold because, even with his early victories and defeats of these opponents how will it feel to face Sean Strickland for five rounds if he truly wants to be the champion? Hey borrachinha, paolo? Robert W Whittaker? Cannonier, Jared? Thats a really packed weight class. He ought to hold his horses, in my opinion I believe he has perhaps ten more fights to go before he is crowned UFC champion.

The idea that Nickals contender path has 10 or more fights in it was met with resistance from Usman.
Usman remarked, Definitely not 10 fights away.I believe that if he keeps growing at this rate, he will undoubtedly be in the contending bracket in two years. Hes there for the next four fights, I would think.

We are aware that its fleeting, Usman went on We understand its all about those times. He gives you two more of those moments like he did in his last bout, which was last weekend rather than this one. Yeah hes definitely a contender now. in two or three of those instances he defeats one of those top opponents in the opening round a major knockout? Hes undoubtedly advanced quickly to the top spot.

Cejudo revised his projection somewhat to six fights but he was still estimating that Nickal might not be back for at least three years.

Cejudo and Usman are adamant that Nickal must tune out the outside world and concentrate on honing his skill set.

Usman stated, I think he just needs to focus on improving. hes had a level head to him.Youll get there if you just keep getting better give up worrying about what this guy says, does, or does not do, or whether I can wow the crowd with a thrilling first round knockout who is concerned about s***? simply put strive to get better every day.
